Councillor Emma Cooke

At the Parish Council meeting on the 12 December 2016, Chairman Brenda Paul gave a moving tribute to Emma Cooke, who had sadly died earlier that day.

Emma was elected as a Parish Councillor in May 2015. She contributed a great deal to the Parish Council and the village and had a particular interest in the South Foreland Valley. She was very proud of what had been achieved by the volunteers and the positive impact of the Tesco grant for equipment which has already proved invaluable in managing the valley’s important habitat.

Emma spoke with passion and knowledge at Council meetings and her contribution was always valued. She loved our village which she had known since childhood.

The Parish Council observed a minutes silence at the meeting on the 12th, in honour of this very special person. She will be missed greatly. The Parish Council would like to pass on its sympathy to Emma’s family and friends.

The funeral service is at Barham Crematorium on 28 December 2016 at 12.40. If anyone is interested in attending the funeral they should contact David and Heather Howarth by email  or telephone 01304 853983 and they will provide more details.
