We have received the following:
“I am writing to advise you of our project to upgrade the gas network in in Reach Road, St Margaret’s at Cliffe. We’ll be replacing our old metal gas mains and services with new plastic pipe. This essential work will ensure your community continues to receive a safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come.
In consultation with Kent County Council, our contractor, I & G Contractors who, are carrying out this project on our behalf, started this work on Monday for approximately thirteen weeks. During this time, our engineers will be working in the following roads.
Monday 2 August for approximately thirteen weeks.
We will be working in Royston Gardens. Some carriageway incursion may be required without traffic management.
Monday 6 September for approximately seven weeks.
Our engineers will be working in Reach Road. to safely access our pipe network, it will be necessary to close the road from the junction with Glebe Close to the junction with the High Street. Access will be maintained for residents and a diversion will be in place via High Street>Station Road>Deal Road>A28>Upper Road.
When working in the remaining roads, listed below, we may need to use the carriageway for some incursion without the requirement for traffic management.
Monday 13 September for approximately three weeks
Monday 27 September for approximately three weeks
Monday 11 October for approximately four weeks
Lighthouse Road, St Margaret’s Bay
Monday 25 October for approximately three weeks
Drove Way Gardens and Chapel Lane
We understand that people can get frustrated by roadworks, therefore we would only ask to close a road if it was unsafe to keep it open under any alternative traffic management.
