Inland Border Facility- White Cliffs Business Park
The Department of Transport have advised of the potential acquisition of land in the White Cliffs Business Park.
The Government wants to create an additional Inland Border Facility here. The proposal will result in a new customs and border control from the 1 July 2021.
The site is proposed to act as a location for starting and ending the transit movement of goods to and from the UK: as well as a border control post. There will be bio secure purpose built structures to check animals, animal products or high risk food and feed of non-animal origin in a consignment from outside of the UK.
“The Department for Transport (DfT) does not expect to use this site as a temporary lorry holding facility.”
