Our Bus Service – We need your help!
Do you think our bus service is ‘fit for purpose’? We know many of you do not and you will likely be aware that we have been regularly following up with Stagecoach, our DDC & KCC Councillors and also our previous MP. We have recently written to our new Labour MP, Mike Tapp, providing a summary of our current situation, why we feel our current service is ‘not fit for purpose’ and asking for his support in finding a solution.
There is some good news – Stagecoach have advised that there are 2 additional buses planned for the afternoon from mid-November – full details to follow nearer the time!
Even with the additional buses noted above, we would like to gather some further ‘tangible’ evidence to support an improved service and would ask you to spend 5 minutes completing a short survey to help us.
The survey can be found on our website and paper copies are also available in the Village Store, Post Office, Smugglers, FirstLight, Coastguard and the Snack Bar on the beach [there will be a form for you to add your answers/comments too].
When filling out the survey, please also don’t just think about your current situation, think 5, 10 + years in the future and what you might need then. Do you have toddlers who may be going to school in the future, young people going to college/uni/starting work in the coming years etc

Mon-Sat, 8am until 7pm – hourly bus service (taking in Deal, Dover, Worth, Sandwich)
Sundays and Bank Holiday – every 2 hours from 10am until 7pm

Mon-Sat – direction Dover – first bus 07:48, last bus at 16:28 – total of 5 buses (reduction of 7 buses).
Mon-Sat – direction Deal – first bus 09:37, last bus at 13:37 – total of 3 buses (reduction of 9 buses)
NO SERVICE SUNDAYS AND BANK HOLIDAYS
