Churches In The St Margaret’s Parish
St Margaret of Antioch is a fine example of Early Norman architecture, and has Saxon foundations. It is Grade One listed and has particularly important West Door stonework, which is one of the finest in Kent. It is also one of the earliest examples of an aisled Norman church, and has an evocative stained glass window dedicated to the memory or three local men killed in the Herald of Free Enterprise disaster.

St Peter’s at Westcliffe This lovely little church is on the Dover Road approaching St Margaret’s-at-Cliffe, in the hamlet of Westcliffe. It has unusual box pews and an unusually wide aisle, to accommodate the benches that the poor would have used. The wealthy would rent a seat in the box pews!
