RSP Manston Airport – Draft Design Principles for Comments

RiverOak Strategic Partners (RSP) would like to thank you for your continued engagement in regard to the development of Manston Airports Airspace design principles.

At the beginning of October, questionnaires were sent to representatives from statutory consultees, including district and parish councils and technical/aviation organisations, to ask for their input and guidance in shaping Airspace Design Principles for Manston Airport. Three focus group meetings with these representatives were also held on 4th and 5th November 2019.

With help from our specialist aviation consultants, we have now collated a RSP Design Principles Stakeholder Review using answers from the questionnaires we received back as well as feedback from the focus groups.

The document attached has been prepared to share the list of Design Principles developed during the recent engagement activities and we would like to give you an opportunity to provide comments on the list and to help us understand which Design Principles are most important to you or your organisations.

You can respond by making comments in the relevant text boxes in the attached RSP Design Principles Stakeholder Review handwritten responses (Section 2 of this document) and sending the completed document to manstonairspace@communityrelations.co.uk

We will accept scanned, hand-written responses or email responses as long as they are legible and clearly identify the Design Principle or question to which your response relates.

It is important that individual email responses clearly show your name and contact details; this will allow us to cross-refer to the emails we sent out.

We will also accept legible postal responses to Free Post 1616.

Please ensure all responses are returned by 12:00 on Friday 17th January 2020.

After this, RSP will collate and assess all comments on the shortlisted Airspace Design Principles before submitting its proposals to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for review and approval at the end of January 2020.

Pending approval from the CAA, these Airspace Design Principles will then provide the framework for the development of Airspace Design Options during 2020. During this time, RSP will hold full public consultation events and consult widely with local residents, businesses, communities, the public and other stakeholders to seek their views and feedback.
