New Townsend Farm – Have Your Say
Residents will be aware that land at New Townsend Farm is allocated for housing within the Dover District Local Plan.
As the site is already allocated, the principle of development cannot be revisited. However, what can be influenced is the design, layout and overall quality of what is proposed.
St Margaret’s Parish Council, alongside other consultees, raised a number of significant concerns regarding the original submission. These related not only to appearance, but also to more fundamental issues including parking provision, cramped layouts and the overall pressure on local infrastructure. Following those representations, revised plans have now been submitted by the developer.
Having reviewed the amendments, the Parish Council does not consider that the revisions go far enough to properly address the concerns raised.
This is an important moment for the village. If residents do not engage at this stage, it becomes much harder to influence not only this development, but also future proposals — including other allocated sites such as Roman Way.
We strongly encourage residents to review the application and submit their own comments.
