We understand knowing where to report problems as you find them is complicated and we will try to simplify the most common items below and who is responsible for them:
St Margaret’s Parish Council
If you find any problems with the parish council services items please contact the parish clerk or any of the parish councillors
Defibrillators
The parish council maintain the defibrillators around the village and ensure they remain registered with the British Heart Foundation.
The parish council employ contractors to undertake general maintenance around the village including grass and hedge cutting. Maintaining memorial benches. Recreation Grounds, memorial field, playing fields, tennis courts, the playground, the village ponds, the bus shelters and of course the South Foreland Valley.
Cemetery Maintenance & Registrar Duties
The parish council employ contractors to undertake general maintenance and registrar duties at the St Margaret’s Civic Cemetery and Dare Memorial Garden in Westcliffe.
Custodians
The parish council hold ownership on behalf of the parish of many buildings and assets including The South Foreland Valley, Madge Memorial Field, The King George V Field, The King George V Pavillion, The Tennis Courts, The Playground, The Reach Road Pond, The Chapel Lane Pond, The Alexander Field, The Alexander Pavilion, The Kingsdown Road Pavilion, The 5 bus shelters, The St Margaret’s Civic Cemetery and Dare Memorial Garden.
Public Conveniences
The Reach Road / Village Car Park public toilets are funded from the parish precept, not by DDC so please contact the PC in the first instance with any concerns.

Dover District Council Resident & Customer Portal
Dover District Council has introduced a new Resident & Customer Portal, making it easier to report issues and access council services online. The portal allows you to:
Report problems such as fly-tipping, noise, or anti-social behaviour
Apply for and track certain services
View the progress of your requests at any time
You’ll need to create an account to use the portal, but once registered, you can log in 24/7 and keep track of your reports in one place.
To report – Payment machines not working, Unauthorised people regularly parking in disabled spaces, Faded parking lines, Pot holes in car parks, Problem parking (where there are restrictions in place such as yellow lines, zig zags or loading bays)
